Sally Phillips Buffington is a USEA Certified Instructor who has competed through the FEI levels of Eventing. She is a member of the USEA, USEF, FEI, and GDTCA. Sally has successfully competed her thoroughbred gelding Absolut at the Intermediate Level as well as through the FEI CIC * level. Her students consistently finish in the top ten placings of their respective level in the USEA every year.

Clinics taught by Sally have been well received and contain in depth teaching in all three phases of eventing as well as written material given to further support the knowledge shared in her clinics. Her clinics stress the safety needed in this sport through deep teaching of proper balance and a work ethic built into the training of the horse. She helps each rider see the whole picture so they can go back and retrieve missing elements of the training scale.

Sally is available for Coaching at Horse Trials as well as training riders and their horses at Stone Creek Farm located just 6 miles north of Madison, Georgia at 1700 Plantation Road. Weekend informal clinics are available at your farm or one near you. We offer a cross country course with some jumps designed by John Wells. We have a sunken road complex, a prelim trahkener and ditch and wall, a training trahkener and ditch and wall as well as a novice trahkener and ditch and wall. Steeplechase fences and a galloping track are also here as well as prelim and training level corners. Groups travel from other cities and have a weekend of in depth instruction in 'off' weekends during show season. She also meets some long distance students one day early at horse trials to give them help prior to the competition.

"I highly recommend Gateway Precision reins. These reins offer the rider the feel of a non-sliding rein through a hand held loop. As a result the rider learns to ride 'through the elbow'thus feeling the importance of elastic elbows and a true connection. These reins are also great for horses who are reluctant to bend properly at the poll. The riders hand become stabilized and they can then feel the magic of sitting long in the saddle with a true connection allowing the pelvis to come forward into the hand. They are a fabulous invention and endorsed by many of our Olympic riders." Sally Buffington. The banner above is a hot link and will take you to the website for Precision Reins. The left side of the banner features Absolut and Sally jumping the stadium phase.
